Dear Families:
Several of our EDYI 1 students are not coming to class with a sturdy bun in their hair and do not have the proper materials to put them in. I wanted to send a reminder to all levels about the importance of the dancers having a proper bun during dance class. Dancers need to come to class with the right materials so they can perform well in class… Just like they need a pencil and notebook in school they need the appropriate hair style for dance.
Every dancer needs: (I linked each product to amazon so you can easily order the correct materials.).
- U Shaped Hairpins
- Bobby pins
- Thick Hair Elastics
- Brush/comb
- Hairnets! (super important to help keep the bun in)
We also have bun kits at the studio that are $10. The students will get all the items above in a container to keep it all safe. If you want to purchase one please email Andrea at office@exhaledance.com.
Finally, HERE is a great bun tutorial to learn how to do a proper bun. They need to be FLAT to your head and should not stick out into a cone shape. Students should be practicing this so they have a nice bun for the Nutcracker. The backstage helpers do not have time to redo dancers buns before the show.
