ADJUSTED SCHEDULE / FRIDAY, MAY 16th

Dear Parents and Dancers,

As we prepare for this weekend’s Competition Event, we are adjusting the Schedule for Friday, May 16th, as follows:

• 4:00 pm: ALL Dancers are should arrive for Rehearsal
• 4:00-6:30 pm: Production(s) and Groups will be rehearsed. Given the fact that attendance on Fridays has not been at 100% since the Extravaganza, this rehearsal time is not only necessary, but imperative.
• 6:30-7:30: Specialty “Run Throughs” will occur as scheduled.

DANCE OVATIONS HINGHAM OUTLOOK

• The Dance Ovations Hingham Regional is now scheduled for Saturday, May 17th ONLY.
• The Event will take place at Hingham High School / 17 Union St. / Hingham MA. PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT the same location as last year’s Event. Please plan accordingly.
• The location of Hingham High School is a bit more “removed” from the local businesses. Please plan to bring food, snacks, and water for the day with you. Venturing “off campus” during the Event could be problematic.

The General Outline for the Day is as follows:

• 8:00 am: Venue doors Open. All Dancers should arrive at this time, with hair and make up complete, and report to the Dressing Room.
• 9:00 am: Morning Session of Competition begins.
• 12:25 pm: 1st Awards Presentation (Time approximate)
• Lunch Break: Dancers will have some time to eat, but will also need to prepare for the Afternoon Session. Again…venturing “off campus” could be problematic.
• 2:15 pm: Afternoon Session of Competition Begins
• 6:30 pm: 2nd Awards Presentation (Time approximate). All “High Scores”, Overalls, and “Title Invitations” will be announced at this time

A detailed, entry specific Schedule will be posted on Tuesday, May 13th.

DANCE OVATIONS NATIONALS UPDATE

The Dance Ovations National Championships are currently scheduled from June 24th through June 29th at the Emerald Resort, in Hyannis, MA. More details will be provided as they become available. Please Note: The EDYI Schedule (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) will remain in effect after the Recital/Showcase through June 23rd. Please plan accordingly. Specialty Choreographers will reach out to schedule “Brush Up” Rehearsals.

“SAVE THE DATE”: EDYI YEAR END BANQUET

Dear Parents and Dancers,

Please mark your Calendars. The Annual EDYI Year End Banquet will be held on Saturday, June 7th. A special “Thank You” to Gena and Shane Lungwitz for offering their house to host the Event. More details will be posted in the future.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR MAY

• May 17th: Dance Ovations Regional / Hingham, MA. Please see above for details.
• May 26th: Memorial Day / Exhale is Closed!
• May 30th: Tech Rehearsal / King Phillip HS / 4:00-7:00 PM PLEASE NOTE: Assistant Teachers ONLY will be required to attend this Rehearsal.
• May 31st: Recital and EDYI Team Showcase / King Phillip HS / EDYI Team Arrival is scheduled for 11:15 AM / Recital Showtime is 1:00 PM / Showcase Showtime is 4:00 PM.
