Monday Schedule & More Title Info

MONDAY SCHEDULE

All dancers will have their final rehearsal from 12-3pm on Monday. :). We are hoping this will get everyone home early to get a good nights rest and prepare for Nationals.

I am asking anyone on Purple and Green, who is available, to arrive at 11am to help a friend review. 🙂

COMPETITION SCHEDULE/INFORMATION

HERE is the competition schedule.

Click below to download the title contestants entry numbers. They will go in order from youngest (Petite Miss) to oldest (Miss). I understand that this is not how she ordered the entries on the sheet, but this is how it will run. (Do not ask me why?!?! LOL).

Title Interview

Sample title interview questions to practice:

1. What is your name?
2. What title category are you running for? (Petite Miss, Little Miss etc.)
3. What are some hobbies you like to do outside of dance?
4. How would you react to winning title?
5. What does your solo mean to you?
6. What is your favorite food?
7. What is your favorite type of dance and why?
8. What is your favorite color?

What to wear for title:

Please wear something that represents you as a person. This may be a sun dress, a romper or simply something stylish that you would normally wear. You should wear your hair how you prefer to wear it daily. This may be down, up in a pony tail, straight, curly…. simply something that represents you! :). As for make-up, wear whatever you might wear to school. Stage make-up is not necessary.

Do I need to bring anything?

No, you do not need to bring anything. You do not need a copy of your picture or a resume. Definitely bring water, as students often want to hydrate so their mouth isn’t dry during their interview.

What do I do after the interview?

Once you are done with the interview you are free to go and prepare for classes/rehearsals. Please check the schedule for all information about shoes, attire you need for classes/rehearsals and the quick dinner break. As noted, dancers will need to change tights and clothes. These must be brought with them to rehearsal/classes are they will not have time to return to their room. All dancers will change in the bathroom located directly next to the rehearsal rooms.

Basic list of all items needed for Nationals

• ALL costumes, ALL accessories, ALL tights, ALL dance shoes 🙂 (Purple tap will not need their hat and gloves.).
• Skin-toned leotard
• Team earrings
• Make-up
• All materials to make a performance bun
• Title contestants:
  • black leotards, one special black leotard to perform the opening number in. (Have multiple black leotards and tights… the dancers are rehearsing a lot and you don’t want to be cleaning clothes in the sink between all rehearsals.)
  • black tights (a new pair for the opening number performance)
  • black jazz shoes
  • interview outfit.
• Gala dress/outfit
• Disco outfit
• Dance clothing for the all the master classes – black leotard, pink tights, tan tights, performance dance shoes. (Dancers should wear their performance shoes for all master classes.). Hair a in a clean, slicked bun. It can be the dancers choice if it is slicked back or parted in the middle.
