Dear Red Team Families,
As our dancers continue to train at a high level, we’re always looking for ways to give them every advantage possible – not just in technique and choreography, but in the tools they use to perform. With that in mind, we’re asking all Red Team members to upgrade their tap shoes to Jason Samuel Smith (JSS) tap shoes.
Here are some reasons why this upgrade is truly important for our dancer’s progress:
- Better sound = better training
JSS shoes are known for their clear, powerful sound. This helps dancers understand rhythms more precisely and develop stronger musicality – something that their current shoes cannot provide at their technique level.
2. Built for Durability
Cheaper shoes wear our quickly, especially with the amount of training our dancers do. I’ve seen their screws come loose, taps come off, even shoes fly off dancers feet due to the weak laces. JSS shoes are built to last! I have had my JSS shoes for 3 years now and have not needed to replace them!
3. Designed for advanced technique
Many of the advanced skills we will be working on this year (pullbacks, wings, trenches, over the tops) require a shoe with a professional build and solid support. JSS shoes allow dancers to execute tougher skills safely and correctly:)

Are they really worth it?
Yes! They are higher quality, perform better and help your dancer sound stronger and more confident, both in class and onstage!
When do I need to order these?
ASAP! Ideally before camp next week however if they are ordered online there is no way to know exactly when they may arrive. The sooner they have them the better so they can get adjusted to their feet before choreography intensifies.
Where can I buy them?
Personally, I recommend buying them online. These shoes are true to size of their street shoes. These shoes do not stretch and are meant to be form fitting so sounds can be made correctly and comfortably. **If you enter your email in on the website you can get 10% off! Hi Melissa! We are in Ireland until Monday Aug 11. I’m not sure what size Payton’s old tap shoes are. She probably will not have them for camp. Sorry about that! Colleen
